Our Approach

The ethos of Hong Hei is simple: use the very best seasonal and locally sourced ingredients wherever possible. We care about our customers and all dishes are prepared fresh from scratch daily. Our takeaway work with British suppliers and farmers that are as passionate about growing as the chefs are about cooking.

Our Story

Hong Hei Chinese Takeaway, opened its doors on Sep 2012, at the helm are husband and wife team Tom and Wendy. With over 20 years combined experience of working in some of the top Chinese restaurants in England, they are realising their dream to run a unique takeaway, expressing their perception of the perfect dining experience for their guest.

We are all passionate about what we do, from customer services to preparing meals, and most of all, we love our customers!



Founder & Chef

Tom believes that every guest should experience a little bit of Chinese life. It's food, culture and most importantly, the passion of the people. He is the main chef and has a passion of delivering quality food at reasonable price. Don't be afraid to communicate your requirements as he speaks English too!




Wendy works as an Accountant during the day and helps Tom look after two adorable kids, occasionally helping out with background management work such as menu designs, marketing, webpage design and staff training.

We always hire staff locally who are lovely and inquisitive!

We hire drivers and shop/kitchen assistants from time to time. So please come in shop and speak with Tom to enquire for any available vacancies.
